In January 2026, there were two variations to the Building and Construction General On-Site Award 2020.
Clause 28.4 Superannuation Fund was varied on 16 January 2026 to update the list of superannuation funds to the current names. Click here to view the variation.
Many of the superannuation funds have merged or changed names over time.
The updated list of superannuation funds is:
- Construction and Building Unions Superannuation Fund (Cbus Super)
- Building Unions Superannuation Scheme (Queensland) (BUSSQ)
- AustralianSuper
- CareSuper
- Australian Retirement Trust
- HOSTPLUS Superannuation Fund
- Any superannuation fund to which the employer was making superannuation contributions for the benefit of its employees before 12 September 2008, provided the superannuation fund is an eligible choice fund and is a fund that offers a MySuper product or is an exempt public sector superannuation scheme
- A superannuation fund or scheme which the employee is a defined benefit member of
On 23 January 2026 a variation was issued to include a delegates’ rights term. This variation took effect from 1 July 2024 when Part 7 – Workplace Delegates, Consultation and Dispute Resolution was renamed and included Clause 36A. Workplace delegates’ rights in the Award. The key change is that the term workers is now used in the Award to replace employees. All other aspects of the Clause 36A remain the same. Click here for the full variation.
Changes have also been made to the Pay and Conditions Tool and pay guide for the Building and Construction General On-Site Award. The update is to the way the In Charge of Plant Allowance and the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Allowance are presented in the Pay and Conditions Tool and pay guide. This was updated on 24 February 2026.
