The Civil Contractors Federation NSW has welcomed Transport for NSW’s decision to expand its published project pipeline to include projects of all values.
CCF NSW says more visibility will help businesses plan and invest in NSW with more confidence.
“This is a practical win for civil contractors and one CCF NSW has been advocating for over a number of years,” CCF NSW CEO, Kylie Yates, said.
“Greater visibility of future projects gives businesses the confidence to invest in jobs, technology, and equipment, prepare competitive bids, and build capability.
“Better planning and visibility of Transport infrastructure projects doesn’t just benefit industry – it supports stronger competition, better procurement and, ultimately, better outcomes for taxpayers.
“Previously, the Transport for NSW pipeline was restricted to bigger projects, which left small to medium and regional businesses in the dark about opportunities, preventing investment in jobs and innovation.
“The new information means civil contractors of all sizes can get the same benefit from Transport’s project portal and prepare for opportunities they didn’t have before.
“The critical next step is keeping the Transport pipeline portal up to date because a pipeline is only useful if industry can rely on it,” Ms Yates said.
