The Fair Work Commission has awarded a 3.5% increase to minimum and award wages, effective from 1 July 2025. The Expert Panel said the rise was needed to deliver a real wage increase for workers.
Members must ensure that employees who are covered by an Enterprise Agreement or Individual Flexibility Agreement, remain better off under your agreement than they would under the Award.
Other changes from 1 July 2025 include:
- Increase to the Super Guarantee rate will increase from 11.5% to 12%.
- Maximum super contributions base will decrease from $65,070 to $62,500.
- The high-income threshold will increase from $175,000 to $183,000.
- The compensation cap in an unfair dismissal claim will increase from $87,500 to $91.500.
