Michael is Managing Director of Sydney-based Talis Civil, which became a CCF NSW Member in 2012. Talis Civil has specific expertise in civil engineering construction and project management for roads, bridges and rail, power, water and waste-water industries, as well as large concrete and steel structures.
Michael has over 30 years experience in the civil engineering construction sector. In the late 1980s he completed a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree at the University of Technology Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
His early career was spent at Ward Civil & Environmental Engineering, where he spent 14 years, including as Project Manager. He formed Talis Civil in 2011.
Throughout, Michael has developed a driving passion to continually improve the industry and the people who work within it. He demonstrates his commitment to these twin pursuits through his presidency of both the CCF NSW and the Institute of Civil Infrastructure.
His passions outside of work are tennis and tennis history, ‘real tennis’ (often referred to as ‘royal tennis’), travel and family.
